A lot of planning goes into the making of a round the world trip as a number of factors are attached to it. Some people embark upon such a journey for the first time and some are seasoned RTW folks. But the things that are associated with the planning of such a trip are the same for everyone. Q. How do I start planning?

Well, one of the first steps that could go in the planning of the trip is to first decide a range of budget for the trip and to make a list of destinations that you would want to visit in the itinerary. Once these two things are taken care of, then the process ahead becomes relatively smooth.

Q. Do I take along someone?

The answer to such a question lies with the person who is setting out for the RTW trip. RTW travelers come in diverse varieties. Some travel solo, with partners and spouses, in large groups and also with kids. At the end of the day, travelling alone or with someone is an individual decision.

Q. When is the best time to book?

The fares and airlines that are available in a particular date or month vary. It depends on seasonality. There are some months of the year when the air traffic is high and therefore the airfare would be on the higher side. There are also some months in which the airfare comes down a lot. Therefore, it depends on the purpose and dates of your travel.

Q. What if I want to change my travel dates?

A change to be made to the date of travel depends on some factors. These factors are the fees charged by the airline and availability of seats on the new desired date. It would be best get to get in touch with the expert and to discuss about the rules for change in dates.

Q. How much luggage am I allowed to carry?

Weight system of measuring luggage/baggage capacity is used generally. The standard weight that is generally allowed varies from class to class. In the economy class, the limit is 20kg, in business class it is 30kg and in 1st class it is 40kg.

Surfboards are very much allowed to be carried on flights. However, the cost of taking your surfboard depends upon the country you are travelling to and the airline. Q. Do I have to incur any visa fees?

The rules regarding fees for visa depends on the country you are visiting. In some countries, some fee has to be incurred. Therefore it is advisable to study the visa requirements of the countries in your RTW itinerary.
